Will my hair grow back thinner?

As the hair is pulled from the roots, this reduces hair growth. It varies from person to person, but even though your hair will grow back less, it may not necessarily be thinner. You’ll just have less of it.

What’s the best way to get rid of post-waxing red skin?

The simple, yet most effective way of calming down red skin is by moisturising. Waxing removes the top layer of the epidermis revealing new, softer ones but simultaneously it strips away the skin’s natural oil and moisture. To restore the moisture and rejuvenate the skin, it is worth checking out some of these products that we recommend to complement your waxing experience.

How often should I get a wax done?

If you become a regular waxer you’ll notice that your hair will become sparser, making it easier to wax…and less painful! It depends on how fast your hair is growing but on average we would recommend getting waxed every 4 weeks. This is usually the right amount of time to have the hair at the right length, and will also allow the skin to be less sensitive to treatments.

How long should the hair be to get a wax done?

The ideal length for waxing is about 1/4 inch to 1/2 an inch-about the size of a grain of rice. If your hair is not long enough, I will let you know. If you decide to go ahead with the treatment, that’s not a problem at all. It is simply likely that we are not going to be able to get all the hair, as they’ll be too short to stick to the wax.

Can I do the deed on the same day that I get waxed?

We know you want to show put that wax to good use straight away, but we usually advise at least 12 hours before bodily contact, as the friction can aggravate the skin.

WHAT CAUSES INGROWN HAIRS?

There are many culprits! Improper technique, tight clothing, sweat/oils/bacteria getting into the follicle, synthetic materials (such as lace, spandex, nylon), friction, dead skin, dry skin, not following proper aftercare protocol. Unfortunately, some people are just prone to these also.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPERIENCE AFTER MY FACIAL?

You will leave your service feeling hydrated and relaxed and your skin will look healthy and glowing. If your appointment is later in the day we typically prepare your skin for night and no cleansing is necessary before bed. If your service is completed early in the day protection products will be applied and cleansing before bed will be recommended.

SHOULD I HAVE A FACIAL SERVICE IF I'M PREGNANT?

Yes. Facials during pregnancy are especially important during pregnancy for many reasons. Your skin can be reflective of the hormonal changes occurring within your body and having regular services can help alleviate some of the symptoms( i.e. breakout, increased redness and sensitivity) when your usual products may be off-limits. Facials can also be a wonderful relaxation tool which can keep your blood pressure at a healthy level.

WHAT DOES A FACIAL DO? IS THERE MORE TO IT THAN SIMPLY FEELING GOOD?

Yes! Skin care treatments coupled with great skin care products should not be considered a luxury, but a way of life for anyone who wants to look and feel great. Hydrophilic cleansers, serums, botanicals, and scrubs are products used during our facials to achieve firm, even-toned, glowing more youthful skin. While you do receive a relaxing massage during a facial, that is certainly not the only benefit!

HAVE ETHNIC SKIN. DO YOU HAVE FACIAL PRODUCTS FOR THAT?

The great thing about SkinScript is that it does not matter what color you are – purple, blue, yellow or red! Facials cleanse the skin according to type and treat for the condition.

WHOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET A FACIAL?

Facial frequency depends on the condition of your skin and what your skin goals are. It could be anywhere from once a month to once a week. Also, it’s important to maintain your at-home skin care regime. The best results come about when we work together on your skin care goals and needs.
